(Tristan Blair, Celine, Office)
I've been fixated on this idea of the perfect black wedge. All of these qualify in one way or another. Though oddly enough this week it's been all about the Docs and the Fryes for me...time for a vertical boost.
(Alexander Wang sweater, Levi's shorts, Hot Topic stockings, Aldo pumps, Noir jewelry)
Colin and I have been trying to stay away from going out so much but Saturday things snowballed when some friends came over. I wore my favorite vast sweater and piled on the Noir. I'll have to take close-ups of these pieces, they're the perfect combination of blinding and sharp.
(American Apparel mesh dress, Bakers boots)
- Colin shot this for Next a little while ago and I really like how the lighting came out..I still can't believe how amazing he's become with the camera
- Eyeing this ring to round out the collection for summer
- An obscenely hot weekend+ and I've been loving every second of it..been attached rather strongly to a 90s tie dyed top, a sort of haphazardly fashioned loose cutout dress, and my newly bleached out denim shorts..we made sure to ride down to the beach every possible chance that we invented
- I think I hate all printers
- My friend (we'll call him Halloween Chris here) is convinced that a group trip to Australia needs to occur soon and I'm starting to agree
- Some fun planned with Metal mag today
(DIY bleached denim shirt, RVCA dress, Topshop boots)
I went a little nuts with the bleach and my bathtub last week and ended up forsaking multiple dresses, shirts, vests, and pairs of shorts to the chemical treatment. This one's available in the store right now...I'm going to investigate what other non-jeans denim I can alter similarly.
(T Alexander Wang tank, Genetic Denim white skinnies, vintage belt and plaid shirt, Balenciaga bag, Sam Edelman boots)
I feel so out of touch with the internet after this weekend. Got to see my favorite people in my favorite places, what more can you ask for?
Genetic Denim sent me these white jeans last week and we're very happy together. Also mildly exciting to me, I changed the strap on my most well loved bag for an extra long one to make it a little more user-friendly. I now haven't switched bags for days.
(Stolen Girlfriends Club dress, Monrow hoodie, vintage denim vest, Topshop boots, Forever 21 perforated metal bangle)
I love SGC.
Colin and I were hanging out in Ocean Beach yesterday and got kind of stoked on this boring blue wall. This crazy little dress is everything that I wanted it to be. Sweet on New Zealand designers..that's one country that is high up on my list of places to visit...I'm sorry but the scenery in Lord of the Rings sold me.
Hope everyone had a great Easter!
(Erin Wasson x RVCA dress, Topshop boots, vintage Chanel backpack)
From earlier in the week..Mexican beer and pizza go together almost as well as Mexican beer and fish tacos. Tried out red lipstick for the first time in my life. It kind of felt like wearing a costume. In a good way. I think. Love Erin's little floral number and how the back is cut just a little lower than expected.
(vintage sheer button down tunic, suede fringe skirt, chain mail bag, and vest, Sam Edelman boots with Litter SF harness)
I think I might be breaking some fashion code wearing so much vintage together but once I put this on I was committed. Lately I've been into kind of a raw Native American vibe..feathers, fringe, and copious amounts of braiding.
Thanks to the girls at Litter SF for sending over these lethal harnesses..I love the idea of throwing jewelry footward to revitalize any old pair of shoes. I'm not 100% sure I attached them right but I'll keep experimenting.
(Hanes beater, Alexander Wang bralet, Levi's shorts, secondhand belt, Converses, Rayban wayfarers)
Perfect beach day. Colin and I rode our bikes down to the water to try to fit on one towel and not get sand in the camera.
Earlier in the morning I did some scouting around at Barney's and tried on a Rag & Bone dress that I feel pretty comfortable calling one of the most amazing floral renditions I've ever seen. Killer black banding.
(All Saints dress, H&M tights, Chloe boots)
After pining away for this dress online I thought my love for it would only go so far as to collage it out but I was lucky enough to find it in the All Saints store in Paris last month. I never get sick of tie dye. Still kinda fantasizing about one of those impossibly pliable washed leather jackets of theirs though..
(Rackk and Ruin horsehair earrings, crochet top, secondhand vest, Walmart jeans, Demonia boots)
Well I'm back home getting organized after a whirlwind of a trip to NYC. I was kept busy pretty much the entire time and was thoroughly incompetent at making any kind of visual documentation, but thanks to all my readers that said hi. I was lucky enough that it wasn't actually too cold..one afternoon it even almost approached warm for about a half hour. The main blogger faux pas I made was my lack of perseverance at taking advantage of the shopping..next time..I was probably just giving up on the whole thing knowing that I would be leaving ONE DAY before the Topshop opening. Pretty hilarious.
Molly sent me a couple off-the-wall rad pieces of jewelry a couple weeks ago, a feathered zipper necklace and these very raw horsehair/zipper earrings. I love that they're so long and kind of blend into the many shades of blonde/brown I have going on. The natural instinct with earrings is to wear the hair up to put them on display but these definitely sabotage the validity of that idea. Somewhat relevant to all this bland hair talk, I received some highly professional advice this week to lose the bangs..I don't really know what they've been doing lately anyway and think it might be time. I miss that satisfying feeling of being able to pull all my hair back into a low ponytail and just have it out of the way.
And yeah I never thought that Walmart would be the one to get me excited about denim again. Weird. For the record, they came in this wash and I just cut the rips in them. DIY Margiela is better late than never.
