And on my favorite models, at that. I would do anything for the black dresses, almost anything for the third, and the fourth I feel I can attempt to recreate with a vintage jacket I'm having dry cleaned right now. Christophe is God.

Balmain forever
Take me away
American Apparel bodysuit, Marc by Marc Jacobs boots, Forever 21 hat and necklace.
We took these a couple weeks ago but they seem more relevant to how I feel now...weird weekend in a big bad way.
I'll leave you with one of my favorite Ginsberg snippets:
"Angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night..."
Not my experiment
Thrifted tank thing, Erin Wasson x RVCA shirt, Forever 21 necklace, Aldo peep toe boots.
I was in a uhh weird mood today..I cooped myself up in the house to get a bunch of work done, aside from a trip to Target where I accidentally spent $100..DAMNIT. I mean I needed the Sex and the City the Movie DVD but I'm thinking the Jemma Kidd makeup was a little extraneous.
This tank dress is probably the most horrible thing I've ever seen. I am therefore in love with it. It actually isn't even a dress, it's a men's wifebeater for god's sakes. Hanes. I found it at a Salvation Army in LA and since I'm too lazy to DIY 99% of the time I figured I would just reap the rewards of someone else's little tie dye experiment.
A day in the life
Nothing like a day screwing around with these maniacs. I drove over to Costa Mesa (note: driving in ass-short leather skirt is just as awkward as one would imagine) to meet up with Kristin and Teen Vogue's Andrew at the RVCA headquarters and take a look at where it all goes down. I met a bunch of people, drank trial sized Vitamin Water, and got to peer at unseen pieces from Erin's line.
Isn't every office similarly equipped?
A corner we didn't sit in.
I had no idea that RVCA was involved with so many rad artists, in addition to publishing ANP, a quarterly magazine dedicated to art. Here are my favorites, but check them all out here:
Andrew drove us over to a Cuban restaurant in his classy town car to meet up with PM and the mildly insane Tim Hendricks where we chatted about tapeworms and chest hair over plantains. This was, of course, followed by an excursion into sneakerhead-topia. I proceeded to fondle the large-ish selection of Comme des Garcons wallets and make a scene with my beloved Andrew.
I think we were actually having that much fun. We all opted out of group sangria but you wouldn't know it.
RVCA founder PM, me, Tim. We are doing really awesome things with our hands, no?
Kristin found these rusty barrels for me..she knows I like decrepit things. Awww.
Telling Kristin what's up.
Teaching them how to pose like a blogger. It is, after all, a fine art.
Oops..except you're not supposed to smile.
A tiny glimpse of Andrew's DOLLY PARTON TSHIRT. Apparently he and Erin had the honor of meeting her this week..I can't decide whether I'm jealous or not. In the back, it reads "Dolly Parton forever". That's all.
Then it was time for accessory show-and-tell in the backseat. I immediately whipped out my fingerless lace gloves.
I wanted to steal all of her rings. Especially the one that looks like it should belong to Shredder. Oh, and since I always receive a weird amount of questions about nail polish, I'm wearing "You don't know Jacques" by OPI, which I spotted on Garance when we met up in New York. Apparently Kate Lanphear asked her about it too..just saying. Anyway, read her hilarious tale about it here.
Her nonchalant face. People asked for more Kristin so I tried extra hard to document her, as difficult as she made sure to make it.
Warehouse pictures are never too exciting. But warehouses themselves are.
Andrew likes them too.
The end...thank you to all of the above, and for the phone call on the way home ;)

Melt my heart
Total shoe porn via Jak and Jil - Cecilia Dean in Louboutin for Rodarte and Emmanuelle Alt in Alaia. Must try cuffed skinny black pants with my craziest heels.
Cold waters
American Apparel mesh bodysuit, Erin Wasson x RVCA tank, vintage skirt, secondhand shirt.
My interpretation of one of Alexander Wang's runway looks, which inspired me to unsurface my favorite geeky dad/science teacher shirt and pair it with one of my latest vintage acquisitions. My favorite thing about the skirt is that I could totally put cash in the pockets and not lose it, how novel! It was about as cold as it appears to be in the photos, but that didn't stop me from splashing around like an idiot and tracking sand all over my car...again. This is hardly impressive considering I swam these waters at night on the way home from a bar one crazy college night. I'm pretty sure I was cooler back then.
Caroline of Pensare Ancora sent me this dripping-in-chains necklace that I've been meaning to wear for a while now - it's raw, almost industrial aesthetic is quite pleasing to me. Thanks Caroline ;)
Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party
Thursday night was Teen Vogue's annual fete at the LA County Museum of Art - let's just say I've never seen so many immaculately dressed teenagers and actually non-teenagers too in my life.
Playing on the red carpet, Colin lent me to Andrew for a bit.
Luella Bartley's fashion show was heavy on tweeds and quirky hats, very "teenagers who lunch".
MGMT on stage.
It somehow took us like an hour to find Kristin but she surfaced after MGMT was done playing. Seconds later we scarfed down tiny bags of fries and sliders.
Kristin and I decided to make some kids pose with us. They seemed confused, but were very sweet.
After Luella's show, I was kind of really surprised when Scout and Tallulah Willis came up to me and told me they loved my blog. They were so prettily adorable that I almost died.
With Scout...I want to know what lip color they were wearing too.
Really long sleeves.
Thanks TV ;)
Back in jeans
Beanie, American Apparel. Top, Forever 21. Jeans, Blue Notch. Wedges, Chloe. Metal mesh bag, vintage. Spiky cuff, some random street vendor in New York.
It's been feeling a bit more autumnal the past week or so. By that, I mean I can't wear tiny shorts and skirts at night bare-legged without dying a little bit. Enter beanie and (gasp) jeans.
Some readers have commented that I never wear jeans. Reason 1 being they are my least favorite thing to wear when it's hot out, which it has been for the past six months or so. And honestly, I have a hard time finding denim that I like because it's always overwhelming to the point of being boring to contemplate all the options that are out there these days. But Sun at Blue Notch was nice enough to send me over these perfectly skinny jeans and I'm back to loving pants again..the piercing detail on the pockets is kind of right up my alley too. Check out their f/w lookbook to get a peek at what look to be the holy grail of leather skinnies.
The haze
Last night was funnn, I have a ton of photos to share with you guys from an amazing party I got to attend..it's going to take me a bit to get them ready to post but here's a blurry-ish pic in the meantime. I thought it had kind of a cool ethereal effect but you know I'm weird like that.
Vintage dress, Jessica Simpson boots, vintage Chanel backpack.
Beach daze
Before I get pounced on for wearing boots near sand, let me just say that living by the beach, you gotta get your designer shoe time in when you can. I only do the flip flop thing when I'm planning on thrashing around directly into the sand, and even then it's probably a studded sandal actually.
I totally caved and Yooxed these Chloe ankle boots, mostly because my red ones are pretty much my favorite thing that I own. It seems this style is even more noteworthy to the public than the others though, a drunkard from the second story of a bar yelled down "SWEET BOOTS", and seconds later the sentiment was echoed by a housewife-ish lady and a cracked out nomad-looking dude that seemed to be having trouble focusing. So glad I have Colin around sometimes.
Erin Wasson x RVCA top, vintage shorts, Chloe boots, vintage Chanel backpack.
Western light
Old tire, barren field, orange dusk, Pacific air..it's actually nice to be back in California. Standing on that thing was Colin's idea, he informed me that my boots, in all their suede khaki glory, were blending into the weeds, so we quickly solved that problem.
Jeweled bustier, Erin Wasson x RVCA. Tank, Kain. Skinny pants, RVCA. Boots, Emma Cook for Topshop. Cuff, Forever 21.
The last of New York
Damn! Guess I'll have to return when it opens.
Headband, Urban Outfitters. Shirt, Kain.
Walking around Soho, petting enormous dogs.
Vest and shorts, vintage. Boots, Zara and vintage.
Perching on the windowsill of our hotel in Brooklyn, watching the rain come down.
Shirt, vintage. Skirt and tights, Forever 21.
Walking around by the water in Williamsburg, beautiful sky...
Blazer, H&M. Shorts, vintage. Shirt, Leg Avenue.
My new favorite vintage shirt, with my totally overworn shorts and studded Colin Stuart boots.
Colin wanted to make sure to see the Statue of Liberty while we were there..after all the stores and fashion stuff I dragged him around to, saying I owed it to him is an understatement.
Miss you already New York!
